I'm Dr. Andy Vogel — Instructional Design Specialist and Emerging Technology Lead at The Ohio State University, with more than a decade in learning environments, classroom AV, and educational technology. The nickname stuck because I do what a good doctor does: listen first, diagnose carefully, and never prescribe technology the patient doesn't need.
My path ran from managing event centers and multimedia studios, to overseeing 100+ technology-enhanced learning spaces, to co-leading Ohio State's classroom pandemic response — reconfiguring 500+ rooms and upskilling roughly 200 faculty for hybrid teaching — to designing courses and leading AI and VR initiatives for the College of Engineering. That range is the point: I've held the screwdriver and written the pedagogy.
I hold an EdD in Higher Education and Student Affairs from Ohio State — my dissertation explored graduate teaching associates' self-efficacy with AI — along with an MA in Educational Technology and a BS in Integrated Language Arts. The "Dr." is official, and so is the AV.
